I had been meaning to post this video for ages, I swear. It's a video that still gives me shivers. Obama is such an amazing man and speaker.

The debate...

Wow. Just wow. The debate tonight between Obama and McCain was spectacular. Admittedly I haven't seen any statistics yet, but I definitely got the impression that Obama blew AWAY McCain in terms of his responses. Not only did it appear as though Obama's responses stayed more on topic and actually answered the questions, he also came off as much less condescending than McCain did.

Also, it was rather fun to watch them milling about afterwards and marvelling at how many more people wanted to get their pictures taken WITH Obama than those who just wanted to take a picture OF McCain. Accessability plays a part there I suppose ^.~

Only one more debate to go (October 15th at 9PM EST, be there or be square). I hope your best man wins ^_^

Shoes and voting =P

In keeping with the political spirit of yesterday, I found this around the net (but cannot for the life of me remember where) here's an awesome photo I found to encourage people to vote from the 2004 election year.

And on an exciting side note - are these not the most amazing shoes ever?

Obamana *doo doo de doo doo* OBAMANA!

So we got up at 8:30AM this morning to head out to Asheville High School, Memorial Stadium. He didn't start speaking until 2:30PM or so, but it was oh so worth the wait (sunburns, dehydration, hunger and heat as well). He was AMAZING! And I hope so very much that he turns out to be our next president.

Bike to a greener world?

Is this not the best idea ever?

The theory (brought to you by Design 21) behind this is that while you bike you release bubbles that are laced with a seedling mixture.
The bubbles trail behind your bicycle and land along the edges of the sidewalk where they will eventually blossom into wonderful green flowers and plants.

In more news about adding a sense of beauty to our urban streets, Martin Lihs (for his student thesis at Bauhas-University in Weimer, Germany), has created the "WiiSpray" can.

It's all the workings of a WiiMote packed inside of a spraypaint can. He hopes to create a communal, online spray paint community for people to create their own personal tags and share them with the rest of the world.

The latest from the interwebs.

Today, while checking my blogs I often frequent I came across two gems of our modern-day, technologically advanced culture.

First on the list is brought to you by The Stranger
That's right, folks, bacon...in a can.
Need I say more?

Well, actually, I need to say more. For shortly after I discovered bacon-in-a-can, I found something that can not only be combined with bacon-in-a-can, but may, in fact, be even more disturbing.

A cheeseburger-in-a-can.
Who would have believed it?

This one is brought to you courtesy of Gizmodo

Terrifying, no?
